FAQ

Registration

  1. How do I register?

On every page in this site, there is a sidebar on the right. The topmost thing on the sidebar should be the "Members Area," and right underneath that it will say "Sign In or Register." Simply click "Register" and fill out the required fields.

  2. I keep trying to register, but the site won't let me.

First, check to make sure that you've filled in all required fields and that your email is correct. If that's not the problem, you probably already have an account on a WEBs address with the email that you're registering with. In that case, just say that you forgot your password and send it to the email you had wanted to register with (unless you remember it obviously).

  3. I've already registered, but the site isn't letting me sign in

It could be that you had gotten expelled from the school, but the more likely reason is that you haven't confirmed your email yet. If you already have but you can't sign in, make sure all of the information you're typing in is correct.

  4. I was a member, but I deleted my account/my account was deleted--how do I get back on the site?

All you have to do is sign in with the information you used before, and the site will ask if you want to join this site as a member. Simply click "yes," and you can be a member once more.

If you had been banned from the site, however, you will not be able to join the site again unless you receive permission from me, even then you will have to create a whole new account.

Account Settings

  1. What should my username be?

Your username should be the name of the character that you applied as. If you haven't applied, please check the page entitled "Applications" and do so as soon as possible.

  2. How can I change my email?

Look at the sidebar on the site when you're signed in, and click "Edit Profile." Once there click the "Edit Account" tab towards the top, and there you will find your email listed. To change your email, simply hit "(change)" at the end of your email and type in the new one. You will have to confirm this change in your new email.

  3. How can I delete my account on this site?

There are two ways of doing this, however one is more permanent.

    1. You can tell me that you wish to delete your account and I will delete it for you. This way is more permanent because the site believes that I am banning you, however you may rejoin when I give you permission to rejoin.

    2. Go over to the side-bar and click "Edit Profile," and then click the tab "Edit Account" at the top. Once there, look down towards the bottom until you see;

    Public Memberships: shadowheartacademy.webs.com/ - http://www.shadowheartacademy.webs.com/

After that text there should be a little red minus sign in a circle. Click on it and hit "OK" when the window appears.

  4. How can I stop receiving mail from this site?

Go to your profile and click "Edit Account." Then click the tab at the top that says "Notification Preferences." Here you can edit what you receive notification via email about, and how often you receive notifications.

There are a few notifications that will be out of your control, such as your account activation email, verification of password changes, banning letters, "forgot your password" emails, and email blasts I may send out to all members occasionally.

RP Threads

  1. I'm not allowed to see the RP Thread page

This is probably because you are listed as a limited member.

To change this, you must either:

    1. Have been a former full-member and sent me a message telling me your username [unless it's a message through the site] and that you want to continue at SHA

    2. [if you are a new member] You must fill out your application form on the "Applications" page and then send me the filled-out placement test, located on the "Placemant Test" page. You then will recieve your Dorm Placement and become a full-member.

  2. Am I allowed to create my own RP thread?

Unless you have permission and are creating the thread for a class or a club, you are not allowed to whatsoever.

  3. Continuing off the last question, what if a thread becomes full?

If it becomes full, please message me right away and I will create the new thread to replace the full one.

If I am not on the site when you message me, go to the filler thread here

  4. How 'minor' can swearing be?

Just as long as it's PG-13 really. I don't honestly care about swearing all that much, however if I see the F or N word you will be kicked off this site regardless of your member status.

Classes/Clubs

  1. How can I create my own class/club?

First of all, you must be a full-member to even get permission to do so. Second, you will have to message me on the site asking permission and include what your class/club is about. If it is approved, your member status will be moved up to "moderator," and I will give you the class/club outline. You then will need to create the class'/club's page under the "Classes/Clubs" page using the outline, and I will edit it [just formatting/grammer and whatnot] when you are done.

  2. How do I join a class/club?

You can simply comment on the class'/club's page or message one of the teachers/officers saying you want to join.

  3. How often do I have to attend class?

Only once a week! Teachers will choose one day that they will update their classes on and as the student you simply have to answer the question of the week so the teacher knows you attended.

  4. Do we have to do homework?

Only if the teacher gives it to you, but probably not since it means more work for them, however there will be a required "Question of the Week" so that the teacher knows you attended.

  5. Where are classes held?

    On the page entitled "Classes/Clubs"

  6. Do I have to attend all of the classes listed?

Of course not!!! You wouldn't even do that at a normal school!

  7. Do I have to wake up for classes or be there by a certain time?

It doesn't work since everyone has different time zones, so no. Classes are open 24/7 for commentary or questions, but will only be updated once per week.

  8. When will classes actually be updated?

Like I said before, once per week on the day that the teacher of that class decides. Teachers will update their class the night before their chosen day so that students can see their class even if they wake up early.
